5/7/26 - PLANNED LIMITED PRECAUTIONARY BOIL ADVISORY -Loranger Area

05/07/2026

PLANNED LIMITED PRECAUTIONARY BOIL ADVISORY

Loranger Area:  Corner of Hwy 1062 at Hwy 40 (Loranger Supermarket) going West on Hwy 40 to Cook Road, Martin Street, Allman Street, Harvest Lane, Passman Road, Ellis Boulevard.

On May 11, 2026, contractors will be connecting the new lines on a 12” water main starting at 4:00pm.

All customers in the listed area should follow the Limited Precautionary Boil Advisory. Out of the abundance of caution and in accordance with the Louisiana Department of Health regulation, a limited precautionary boil advisory is in place.

This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by Tangipahoa Water District. It is recommended that all customers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, or using for food preparation or rinsing of food by the following means:

Boil water for {1} full minute in a clean container. The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.)

Tangipahoa Water District will rescind the Boil Advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health - Office of Public Health that additional water samples collected from our water supply system have shown our water to be safe.

Customers affected by this advisory will be advised when it is rescinded. Notices will be posted on the Tangipahoa Water District Website and social media sites. If you have any questions, please call Tangipahoa Water District at 985-345-6457.
